Step 1: Choose A Landing Page Builder

A landing page builder is software that enables you to create attractive sales funnel landing pages without any design or coding skills.

5 Benefits of a landing page builder

It gives you access to pre-built landing page templates that are designed for different goals, such as...

  • Lead generation

  • Selling a product or service

  • Promoting an offer

  • Webinar registration

Whether you're doing affiliate marketing or growing an email list, a landing page builder makes it fast and easy to create professional pages that convert.

There are hundreds of landing page builders in the market, but not all of them are created equally in terms of quality.

What is the best landing page builder?

Systeme.io is one of the best landing page builders because it has already helped more than 100,000 entrepreneurs create their favorite landing page.

Moreover, this software allows you to manage 2,000 email contacts and send unlimited emails for free, which makes it affordable for beginners.

Interestingly, Systeme.io gets you access to 100+ well-designed landing page templates that boost the conversion rate dramatically.

In addition, you get access to 60+ ready-made thank you pages, which are used for thanking people after taking action on your landing page.

Step 2: Create A Landing Page

What is a landing page? It is a web page that allows you to generate leads (potential customers) online.

The purpose of a landing page is to persuade visitors to take a specific action, such as signing up for a newsletter, registering for a webinar, or purchasing a product.

Here are 6 components of a high-converting landing page:

  • Offer

  • Headline

  • Subheadline/Bullet Points

  • Visuals (Image or Video)

  • Call to Action

  • Social Proof

1. Offer

What do you want to promote on your sales funnel landing page? Define your goal before proceeding. Is it for

  • Selling a product/service

  • Lead generation

  • Webinar registration

  • Promoting an affiliate offer

Your offer can be a physical product, a digital product, or some services like coaching and consulting.

However, 43.6% of marketers use landing pages for lead generation purposes only, according to data.

Moreover, they focus on building email lists because of email marketing's high return on investment, which is $36 for $1 spent.

They give people only a simple gift called a lead magnet, like a free consultation, in exchange for their email addresses.

7 Examples of a Lead Magnet:
  • Free ebook

  • Free consultation

  • Free report

  • Free training

  • Free course

  • Discount code

  • Free Trial

According to research, short forms of both written and video content are the highest-converting types of lead magnets for a landing page.

It means only providing a short ebook or 10-minute video training allows you to generate leads and build the powerful digital asset (email list).

You can use AI Book Writer software to create a high-converting lead magnet in seconds if you have no time to create one quickly.

2. Headline

After defining your landing page offer, you need to create a catchy headline for that offer to grab people’s attention.

The headline is the first part of a landing page, and it’s the first thing that visitors see, whether to take action on your offer or not.

If your headline is not persuasive from a point of copywriting, no one will be motivated to take action on your landing page.

I spend more time on creating a catchy headline than on other parts of a landing page because five times as many people read the headline as read the body copy, according to research.

How to Write a Catchy Headline for a Landing Page?

1. Use Specific Numbers:

For example, 7 Ways to Regrow Your Hair.

2. Highlight the key benefit of your offer:

For example, discover the new online business to turn $1 into $36

3. Solve a Specific Problem:

For example, get rid of your belly fat in 4 weeks.

4. Create Excitement:

For example, How I Made $1 Million in 7 Hours With One Email

5. Use Emotional Trigger Words:

For instant, secret, hidden, powerful, discover, new, proven, advanced, amazing, free, blueprint, now, etc.

3. Subheadline/Bullet points

After creating your headline, you should also craft a subheadline.

The purpose of a subheadline is to support the headline and elaborate further on your product's benefits to attract interest.

For example,

Headline: 7 Ways to Regrow Your Hair.

Subheadline: Discover the advanced system to achieve your model-like hair back in 3 months.

Sometimes instead of writing a subheadline, you can create 3-4 bullet points to support your headline.

For example,

Headline: 7 Ways to Regrow Your Hair.

Bullet points:

1. Get rid of baldness quickly

2. Discover natural hair loss treatment

3. Achieve a model-like hair in 3 months

4. Visuals (Image/Video)

Adding visuals such as a relevant image or video related to your offer boosts the landing page conversion dramatically.

According to 38.6% of marketers, video is the #1 element on a landing page that influences conversion rates.

Another study revealed that incorporating a relevant video on a landing page increases conversion rates by 86%.

So, if your lead magnet is a free course, then creating a step-by-step video training that teaches the topic would be a good idea.

But if your lead magnet is a weight loss book for women, then a well-designed cover featuring a healthy woman would be a good choice.

5. Call to Action (CTA)

A call to action (CTA) on a landing page is a clear message that tells visitors what to do next.

For example,

1. Buy Now

2. Sign up For Free

3. Download Free Guide

4. Watch Now

5. Get Instant Access

It’s usually a button or link designed to stand out and grab attention.

A good call to action uses simple words, creates urgency, and shows the benefit of clicking.

For instance, “Get Your Free Ebook Today” is more effective than just “Submit.”

To boost the landing page conversion rate, try placing the call to action button above the fold and after the product descriptions.

6. Social Proof

Do you want customers to trust your offer? Add social proof to your landing page.

Social proof refers to actual customers who were satisfied with the product, sharing their experiences and recommending it to others.

Social proof has different forms, such as customer reviews, testimonials, awards and certifications, and success stories.

In my opinion, video testimonials and success story videos are the best form of social proof to use for a landing page.

Video testimonials build trust faster by showing real people, emotions, and results.

They feel more genuine than written reviews, making visitors believe and act quicker, which boosts conversions better than other social proof.

How to find video testimonials?

1. Affiliate products

If you promote affiliate products on your landing page, you can get access to customer testimonials by checking their sales page.

2. YouTube

You can go to the YouTube search bar and enter “product name + testimonials,” and you can find a bunch of video testimonials related to your chosen affiliate product.

3. Contact Customers

You can contact your satisfied customers via email or phone and offer them a free product, service, or consultation in exchange for a short video testimonial.

This method helps you to collect dozens of video testimonials from real customers who use the product already and are satisfied with it.

Step 3: Create A Thank You Page

A thank you page serves to express gratitude to new leads or customers who either purchase a product or subscribe to your email list.

Smart marketers monetize their thank you pages in addition to gratitude by introducing a new offer.

This offer can either complement the original offer from the landing page or be a relevant product associated with it.

For instance,

If your landing page promotes a free weight loss consultation, introducing a weight loss supplement on your thank-you page would be a great idea.

Here's the real sample of a monetized thank you page...

Thank You Page Monetization Sample

How To Monetize Your Thank You Page?

Step 1: Choose An Offer

Choose a low-ticket offer to promote on your thank-you page.

Most professional marketers suggest promoting a low-ticket offer in this phase, which typically ranges from $5 to $50.

This is because leads are new to your brand and may not yet trust you enough to purchase high-ticket items.

Once you’ve established a good relationship and built trust through your email campaigns, you can start promoting products valued at over $50.

Step 2: Introduce The Offer

Tell about your offer and explain what it does and how it can help your target audience to solve their problems.

For example, Perpetual Income is a done-for-you system that sets up your affiliate marketing business in 3 simple clicks in any niche you want.

Step 3: Highlight The Key Benefits

Try to mention the main benefits of your offer that can improve your customer's life or business.

For example, ChatGPT helps you to create fresh blog articles in seconds without paying for expensive writers online.

Step 4: Tell A Story

Have you achieved some success from the product yourself? Share your story and personal experiences.

Tell how your life was before using the product and how finding it improved and solved your problems.

Step 5: Call To Action

At the end, place a call to action button to direct the customers to take action and check the offer.

For example,

1. Click Here To Watch Now

2. Check out Now

3. Learn More

Step 4: Automated Email Follow ups

Email follow-ups consist of automated messages sent to new leads who subscribe to your email list via the landing page.

The purpose of automated emails is 3 things:

1. Provide the thank-you message or freebie.

2. Build Relationships

3. Promote an offer

You can set up either one automated email or hundreds. It depends on you and your offer.

However, I suggest setting up 10 email follow-ups for a new offer.

7 value-based emails and 3 promotional emails.

Valuable emails, such as helpful information and tips, give you credibility and trust, while promotional emails assist you in making sales.

I allocate the first 4 emails for providing value, 3 emails for telling stories, and the last 3 emails for promotions.

Here's the structure of engaging email follow-ups.

Day 1: Welcome or providing the freebie

Day 2: Follow up for freebie

Day 3: Story

Day 4: Continue the story

Day 5: Content

Day 6: Promotion

Day 7: Story

Day 8: Promotion

Day 9: Content/story

Day 10: Promotion

If you want to learn how to create an engaging email follow-up series step by step, read this article now.

I never recommend promoting any offer from day one.

Because your brand is new to the customers, they don't know much about you and your products.

So you need some time to gain trust.

That's why I suggest providing value first, then starting promotion after a few emails.

Step 5: Drive Traffic

Once you have completed your landing page, thank you page, and automated email setup, you're ready to drive traffic to your landing page to sell your product or generate leads.

How to drive traffice to your sales funnel landing page.

There are two main ways to drive traffic: free and paid.

Free methods allow you to attract visitors to your landing page without any financial investment. These methods include

  • Blog

  • Email List

  • Facebook Pages and Groups

  • YouTube Channel

  • Reddit

For instance, if you have 1,000 followers on your Facebook page, you can leverage that audience to promote your landing page.

Simply inform your followers about the benefits of your offer and share the link with them. As a result, you could attract hundreds of visitors at no cost.

Another method is paid ads.

Paid advertising helps you to promote your landing page by targeting a specific audience and geographic area.

Paid ads are a great opportunity to grow and scale your business, especially if you don't have any audience at all.

Here are examples of paid advertising:

  • Facebook Ads

  • Instagram Ads

  • YouTube Ads

  • Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

  • Display Ads

  • Solo Ads

Paid advertising needs financial investment as well as technical and conversion optimization skills.

If you don't know how to set up an ad campaign technically, you may lose all your money.

Because of this issue, I strongly recommend taking a proven digital marketing course to master running ads.

Conclusion

I revealed step by step how to create a sales funnel landing page.

The most important part of a landing page is the headline because it's what grabs people's attention.

Adding a relevant video to a landing page boosts conversion rates by 86%, according to data.

The thank-you page is a complementary page that allows you to express gratitude for taking a specific action on the landing page.
